Those early lessons taught me what the research would later confirm: performance and behavior change start with connection.
Growing up, everything was a competition. That was life with my self-proclaimed “Uncle Champ.” He was a sports fanatic who ran a publishing company, despite having terrible eyesight. He’d watch games standing two inches from the biggest TV you’ve ever seen or read articles in size-100 font. But that never stopped him. Believe it or not, he could beat all of us kids in putt-putt even though we had to show him where the hole was. And he made sure we inherited that drive. In the car, we played the question game. At restaurants waiting for our food, the drawing game. We once spent hours in a heated Monopoly match, until my brother realized he was about to lose and flipped the board so no one could win.
As chaotic and intense as it sounds, that kind of environment shaped me. It taught me resilience, how to stay calm under pressure, how to always be thinking a few steps ahead so I could strategically adapt, and a little persistence can go a long way. You certainly won’t find me giving up easily.
But it wasn’t just about competing. I was also surrounded by people who worked hard and gave generously. My mom, especially, believed that “anything worth doing is worth doing right.” For her, it was about the care as much as the effort she put into it.
She always went the extra mile to create moments people remember. Our family photos often have a stranger smiling at the center. Someone she’d welcomed in, helped, or included. One year, someone’s new girlfriend showed up for Christmas unannounced, and somehow, there was a stocking with her name on it like everyone else. That’s just who my mom is. She made people feel valued and I saw how powerful that could be.
Those early lessons taught me what the research would later confirm: performance and behavior change start with connection. And that blend of drive and service stuck with me. Whether I’m mentoring a teammate, strategizing with a client, or building systems to help scale a business those are in the back of mind. Helping others succeed became my professional passion.
I’ve spent my career in the sales performance improvement space, helping hundreds of organizations drive measurable business outcomes by aligning people, process, tools, and enablement strategies. And while I’m proud of the results, what drives me most is knowing that when sales performance and leadership improve, everyone inside the company benefits. That ripple effect is what I love most.
From leading customer success teams to optimizing processes and tools, I’ve seen how lasting performance is never just about the playbook, it’s about people.
Today, I still see companies chasing results without the human connection that makes it sustainable. It’s like pouring water into a leaky bucket, temporary at best. That’s what drew me to Braintrust. It’s not just training. It’s about connection and behavior change that drives lasting impact.
That’s why I’m here, to help people lead better, perform better, and build lives they’re proud of.
