Seller Trust Index Diagnostic

You already know which deals slipped. Now you can see which behavior caused it.

Send us one sales call. We'll score how that seller builds or erodes trust when the conversation gets hard, across 14 behaviors, and send you the report. Your first diagnostic is free.

One seller, one call, no cost. A transcript is enough to begin.

Your conversation platform tells you what happened. This tells you why it cost you the deal.

You already have talk ratios and question counts. Those describe activity. None of them tell you whether trust held at the moment the buyer pushed back, which is where deals are actually decided.

What you have today

Activity measurement

  • ·
Talk-to-listen ratio, monologue length, question count
  • ·
    Keyword and competitor mention tracking
  • ·
Deal risk flags based on activity and engagement volume
  • ·
Tells you a rep talked 68% of the call, not why they couldn't stop
What the Trust Index adds

Behavioral diagnosis

  • 14 trust behaviors scored across four domains: Connection, Regulation, Insight, Activation
  • The specific pressure moments isolated, with what the seller did in the seconds after
  • A named default pattern the seller falls back on when the conversation tightens
  • Every score anchored to peer-reviewed neuroscience, so it holds up in a coaching conversation
No platform on the market outputs a line like "Primary default: Professor. Under pressure, responds to disengagement with more content." That's a diagnosis. Everything else is a transcript with statistics on top.
What You Get

This is the report, not a description of it.

Three excerpts from an actual Seller Trust Index Diagnostic Report. One seller, one call, scored against the NeuroSelling® framework. Names and identifying details anonymized.

Behavior Target Profile Report page 3
ConnectionCreates safety, credibility, buyer focus
6.3
RegulationStays composed and present under pressure
6.0
InsightResists pitching, understands the buyer's world
5.6
ActivationConnects value to problem, secures commitment
6.0

The orange marker is the Trusted Advisor floor at 7.0. Each domain is scored on its own, so strength in one never masks a gap in another.

What a leader does with this: Insight is the lowest domain, so this seller's problem is not rapport or composure. It is discipline before the pitch.

Trust Activation

Pressure Capable
What we saw
Opened with a vivid, authentic personal story that established common ground before any business talk began.
4

Pitch Resistance

Inconsistent

Moved into the methodology and proof points early, then stayed in presentation mode for much of the call. The weakest single behavior.

Breakpoint
Let me just show you the dashboard real quick, I think you'll love it.
5

Problem Development

Functional

The buyer volunteered real problems, including past vendor failures and hiring urgency. None were explored, validated, or quantified with a follow-up question.

Breakpoint
Got it, so it's a process gap. Anyway, here's what our platform does.
Every behavior carries its evidence. Each score is tied to the exact moment on the call, so the coaching conversation starts from what was said, not from an opinion about how the call felt.
Default Patterns Detected Report page 6

Professor

Primary default

Over-educates and creates cognitive overload. When the buyer's interest visibly dipped, the answer was more content rather than a question, so the conversation grew dense with seller material and crowded out the space she needed to surface her own problem.

Under pressure Responds to challenge or disengagement with more content: more features, more case studies, more data.
The coaching move Say one thing, then check what landed before adding the next.
This is the part frontline leaders use on Monday. A named pattern gives a manager language for a one-on-one that a score alone never does.

The full report includes all 14 behaviors and the training recommendations mapped to each gap.

Which Seller To Send

Send us the rep you can't figure out.

Not your top performer, and not your struggling new hire. Send the one who doesn't add up, because a puzzling seller produces a finding worth acting on.

Interviews well, doesn't close Strong in the room, credible on paper, and the number never follows. Usually a Regulation or Insight gap that only appears under pressure.
Activity looks fine, pipeline stalls The dashboard is green. Deals die in the same place every quarter. The behavior causing it is invisible to activity metrics.
Trained, and it didn't stick Went through the program, passed the certification, reverted within 90 days. The diagnostic shows which default reasserted itself.
How It Works

One conversation with us, and you're set up in five minutes.

The heavy lifting is ours. Get in touch, tell us which seller, and we handle the rest from there.

1

Get in touch

Reach out using the form below. In a five-minute conversation we confirm the seller, the scenario, and how you want to handle confidentiality.

2

We set it up with you

We walk you through exactly what to send, right there on the call. Whether it is a recorded conversation or an AI roleplay, we make it effortless and take the work off your plate.

3

Get the report and walk it through

You receive the scored report, then we walk the findings with you and your frontline leader so the coaching starts immediately.

Path A: a real buyer conversation

The most revealing option. A discovery call, an objection call, or a deal that stalled. Real pressure produces real evidence, and we help you get it to us.

Path B: an AI roleplay instead

If sending a customer call means a legal review you would rather skip, your seller runs a scenario in BTAI and we score that. No real deal, no approvals, same 14 behaviors.

Why It Matters To You

The same report answers three different questions.

Depending on the seat you are in, a different part of the report is the useful part.

CRO

A leading indicator, not another lagging one

Pipeline tells you what already happened. The Trust Index scores the behavior that produces the outcome, which means you can see the problem a quarter before it shows up in the forecast.

Sales Leader

Coaching that scales past ride-alongs

You cannot sit in on every call, and gut feel does not transfer between managers. A named default pattern and the exact moment it appeared gives every frontline leader the same vocabulary.

Sales Enablement

Proof the training changed behavior

You own the rollout and get asked for impact. Re-score the same seller a quarter later and the movement is the evidence: domain-level change, behavior by behavior, against the original baseline.

Confidentiality

You control what leaves your organization.

The diagnostic does not need customer names, company names, or pricing. Only send a conversation you are authorized to share. If you would rather not send a customer call at all, use the roleplay path instead. When we set things up together, we walk you through anonymizing anything sensitive so nothing leaves your control by accident.

Labels work as well as names"Seller," "Buyer," and "CFO" preserve everything we need to score the conversation.
We will anonymize it for youIf you are authorized to share the original, send it as-is and ask us to strip identifying details before analysis.
The sequence is what mattersKeep the order of questions, answers, and objections intact. That is what reveals how trust formed or decayed.
No recording required to beginA transcript is enough. We only ask about authorized audio when delivery and composure scoring would add something.
Common Questions

What leaders ask before they send one.

What is the Seller Trust Index Diagnostic?

It is a behavioral diagnostic that scores how a seller builds or erodes trust in a real conversation. Braintrust evaluates one sales call against the NeuroSelling® framework and scores 14 specific behaviors across four domains: Connection, Regulation, Insight, and Activation. The output is a report with a Trust Index score out of 100, a behavior maturity level, a named default pattern, and the exact moments on the call that produced each score.

What does the first diagnostic cost?

Nothing. Your first Seller Trust Index Diagnostic covers one seller and one conversation at no cost. We use it to establish whether the read is useful to you before anyone talks about a broader engagement. If it is, we will discuss scoring more of the team after you have seen the first report.

Do we have to send a real customer call?

No. If sending a live conversation would trigger a legal or compliance review you would rather avoid, your seller can run a scenario in BTAI, Braintrust's AI roleplay platform, and we score that instead. Same 14 behaviors, same report, no customer data. Many teams start here and layer in real calls later.

How is this different from our conversation intelligence platform?

Gong, Chorus, and similar tools measure activity: talk ratio, question count, keyword mentions, monologue length. Those describe what happened on the call. The Trust Index scores whether trust held when the conversation got hard, names the default pattern the seller reverts to under pressure, and ties every score to peer-reviewed neuroscience. It is a diagnosis rather than a transcript with statistics on top, and it works alongside whatever platform you already use.

How is the scoring defensible?

Every criterion in the rubric is anchored to published research, from oxytocin's role in trust and threat sensitivity to how acute stress degrades prefrontal function. The standard we hold ourselves to is that any score can be explained with the specific study and brain mechanism behind it, which is what makes the report usable in a coaching conversation with a skeptical rep.

What happens after the first report?

We walk the findings with you and, ideally, the seller's direct manager, since that is where the coaching actually happens. From there you decide whether to score more of the team, re-diagnose the same seller in a quarter to measure movement, or do nothing at all. There is no obligation attached to the first report.

How long does it take to get set up?

About five minutes. Get in touch and we set everything up with you on a short call: which seller, which conversation, and how to handle confidentiality. From there Braintrust does the scoring and coordinates delivery of the completed report, including the walkthrough of the findings.
